With London Fashion Week up and running right now I thought it would be a great time to discuss and share what we’re seeing on the runway from designers right now, and what you need to know to stay up to date on the latest Spring 2021 trends and what's to come!
Fun Florals!
Of course! Would it even be Spring without them!
This season we’re seeing an array of florals, the bolder and brighter the better; that means florals in bright yellows, neon greens and pinks, and hyper pigmented reds and blues! We’re also seeing lots of head-to-toe floral and mixed prints!
To Die For Tie Dye!
We saw Tie Dye arrive with the start of quarantine and now we’re seeing designers take and adapt this trend, spreading color and good vibes in a variety of ways!
Cool and Holes and Cutouts!
We’ve seen this trend continuously popping up in trend forecasts and now we know for sure that it’s arrived! Designers are finding new ways to show a little skin, and we’re seeing cutouts come back strong! Along the lines of the avant-garde look we’re seeing is distressed looking holes!
Netting is Now!
This trend has slowly been creeping in with the holes, and I’ve seen a select few fashion creators on Tik Tok incorporate netting into their looks. Layering fishnet tops as a little harness look-alike moment is something we will definitely being seeing more of!
So Much Sheer!
Sheer is something we’ve definitely seen before, but this season, it’s been reimagined. Think sheer long sleeves in fun prints, religious prints with major inspo from art, or almost psychedelic-esque prints.
Bold Shoulders!
We’ve seen big bossy bold shoulders slowly creep in and they’re definitely present in designers new collections! Strong shoulders go along with the menswear trend we’ve been seeing and pieces with shoulder pads or puffed sleeves is something you should definitely have in your closet this season!
Loose Wide Legs!
Correlating to the menswear trend we will be seeing lots of loose wide legs, which we have been seeing for a while now, but we now know they’re going to stick around for a while longer. Whether it’s wide legged trousers or loose and baggy jeans, skinny is out!
Bossy Bras!
To add a more feminine touch to the menswear look, we’re seeing designers have fun with bras! We’re talking bras as tops, more like bralettes and crops, with dainty straps and a variety fabrics and patterns, bringing girl boss vibes all the way!
Bring on the Button Down!
Button downs are timeless and classic, a must have staple, but recently we’ve seen them become popular layered with sweater vests and pullovers, and now this season they’re going to be big! Literally! Raid your dad’s closet and look for those large and oversized button downs that can be worn oh so creatively and are oh so comfortable!
Colors!
As we’ve seen brown is back, so for this season keep that mindset and be on the lookout for all things khaki!
This season we’re seeing lots of white, so think fresh and positive, and ditch the rule of no white before labor day!
And of course, keep the traditions of spring with pastels! We’ve seen matcha green spread like crazy but this season we should be seeing a few more pastels join the mix!
